UFO in Toungkouska

UFO Strikes earth; One hundred years later, the mystery remains in Toungkouska

Early in the morning of 30 June 1908, highlighted a huge explosion in the sky over Siberia and flattened a forest near the river Toungkouska area in 2150 square kilometers. A century later, no one can say with certainty what caused it.

According to prevailing theory, the incident of Toungkouska caused by an asteroid or comet entering the atmosphere and dissolved in 5-10 km height. The blast flattened 80 million trees in the forest of taigkas, many of which are now fallen, mysterious signs of destruction.

Scientists continue to disagree not only about the nature of the object from space, but also the power of the explosion, with estimates ranging from 5 to 40 megatonous TNT. An average estimate of 15 is equivalent to 1,000 megaton explosions like that of Hiroshima.

«Imagine an unnoticed asteroid that destroyed an important piece of land [...] and imagine what would happen if this region, unlike the Toungkouska was inhabited» commented last week the journal Nature. To the event will Toungkouska well enough to destroy a metropolis like Tokyo.

According to their calculations, the incident could have been caused by an asteroid with a diameter of around 30 meters and a mass of 617,000 tonnes, although some researchers believe that the space rock was fairly small.

The same attack could have managed a smaller diameter comet. The comets, low-density bodies, are usually much higher speeds than the asteroid and thus carry more kinetic energy per unit weight.

Although far fewer than the asteroid, comets are perhaps the most dangerous, as appear from nowhere. Most remain unknown until today, as they need tens or even hundreds of years to conduct a complete around the Sun and approaching the neighborhood of Earth.

Whatever was the object that fell on the Russian taigka not left behind debris. The researchers visited the area found only in high concentrations of iridium and nickel, two elements that are present in relatively large quantities in the meteor.

In 2007, researchers at the University of Bologna argued that the lake in the Tsekos Toungkouska, is actually the crater from an impact fracture of the asteroid, which had a diameter of around one meter.

The Italian scientists now plan to visit again and look below the bottom of the lake a solid object reflecting the sonar signals. Other scientists, however, feel that the theory of Italians and estimate that the lake has at least 5,000 years.

There are also theories which do not include objects from space. The Wolfgang Kount, physicist at the University of Bonn, this week back to New Scientist magazine theory initially formulated in 2001, according to which there was no impact

Dr Kount argues that the forest was leveled by a sudden leak of 10 million tonnes of gas was trapped at a depth of 3,000 kilometers.

The gas, mostly methane, it was trapped in liquid form, because of pressure at this depth, and when released suddenly surged to the surface causing a blast, he explains in Space.com.

Since the evidence missing from the site of the incident, the theories give and take. Among the most crazy explanations for the event is the nuclear reactor explosion in alien ship, or a test «radius death» by Nikola teslas.

The great inventor and engineer, father of alternating current, allegedly tested a directed energy weapon on 30 June 1908. When informed of the incident of Toungkouska, say supporters of the theory, the dismantling teslas finding that the weapon was too dangerous to continue to exist.
