Highly sensitive cameras able to record even individual photonsconfirming that the human body emits light whose intensity fluctuates even by time of day.The biogenic shine is in the visible part of the spectrum, but is 1,000 times more patient than they can understand the human eye, Japanese researchers report in the electronic inspection PLoS One. The new study confirms previous experiments which had shown that all the living organisms emit a slight glow, says the service LiveScience. Although the phenomenon has not been studied in detail, the researchers estimate that the light is product of metabolic reactions, involving free radicals (harmful forms of oxygen). In the last experiment, five healthy men 20 to 30 years were examined imigymnoi front of the cameras in a totally dark room. The measurements lasted about 20 minutes and repeated every three hours, from 10 am to 10 pm, for a total of three days. The images revealed that the brightness of the human body reaches the highest levels of 4 in the afternoon and fell to lower levels around 10 am. The change appears to be associated with changes in metabolic rate which dictates the biological clock. The researchers also believe that the change in the intensity of the organic light could in future be used to diagnose diseases. «If you can see the glow from the entire surface of the body, and can see the whole body» commented Dr Mosaki Kompagiasim, specialist in the Institute of Technology viofotismo Tochokou Sentai in Japan. Kobayashi collaborated on the study Chitosi Okamoura, a specialist in biological clock at the University of Kyoto. The survey also revealed that he illuminates more than the rest of the body, possibly because they collect melanin, which has fluorescent properties and probably strengthens the internal glow. |
